Jillian Carell

Jillian Carelli is a soprano, music director, and voice teacher. Born in Seoul, Korea, she was adopted into the Carelli family and is the oldest of 5 children adopted from Kroea. With a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Jillian’s additional training in piano, organ, flute, and harp, shapes her musical approach as music director and educator by bridging the gap between classical and contemporary performance. After a decade of serving in music ministry in Catholic Liturgical music, Jillian moved to New York in the summer of 2023 from Massachusetts. Currently, Jillian serves as music director of The Freetones, and music director/minister at Bethany Congregational Church in East Rockaway and teaches voice in Manhattan. She performs with her new music chamber ensemble Into the Light premiering new works by living composers, and actively performs around New York City. She writes and records her own music and will be releasing her debut album this summer.
